The Cradle of Humankind

The Sterkfontein Caves are one of the world's most productive and important palaeoanthropological sites. It is the place where the very first adult ape-man was found by Dr Robert Broom in 1936.

The Wonder Cave is believed to be about 1.5 million years old. The 60 metre deep cave is accessible to visitors by elevator, and is located within the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve.

The Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve is a privately owned, non-subsidesed game reserve, covering approxmiately 1 100 ha on the typical highveld of Gauteng. The reserve is situated in the "Cradle of Humankind", a declared World Heritage Site, about 40 km north-west of Johannesburg and 60km west of Pretoria.

Gold Reef City is a casino and gold rush theme park offering fun packed entertainment for all.

The Apartheid Museum is the pre-eminent museum in the world, dealing with apartheid in 20th century South Africa. The museum illustrates the rise and fall of apartheid. This is a multi-media experience complied by film-makers, designers and historian which should not be missed.
